Now I am wondering if phrag is cognate to phag and bag (which we have seen) all
meaning mtshams/bar “intermediate space/segment.” Thus phrag in bcu phrag, brgya phrag, and so on, can mean “segment of ten,” “segment of hundred,” and so on, and phrag dog “ jealousy/envy” is characterised by a feeling that the available room/space (phrag) for others is too tight or narrow (dog). Perhaps also the etymology of phrag pa “shoulder” is related with this?
