Could it be that zhar in mig zhar ba “to be blind,” and so on and zhar in zhar dang zhor la or zhar byung du “incidentally, by the way, apropos” are somehow connected? And so zhar la (“incidentally”) etymologically meant “blindly”? Or could zhar in the later case be simply an onomatopoeia? Cf. zhar zhor du and zhar dang zhor du.
